Stephanie Tomasso leads the firm's Washington DC office, serving as the leader of the Trade & Professional Association Practice and the co-lead of the Corporate Affairs Practice. She specializes in CEO succession and other senior leadership searches for advocacy and policy-oriented, nonprofit organizations. Steeped in constituent engagement, she has substantial experience advising multi-stakeholder organizations. She also partners with corporate clients in the recruitment of heads of government and external affairs, as well as other executives in the public policy space.
Stephanie recently led assignments to recruit CEOs for member-driven organizations with domestic and global footprints across a broad range of industries and professional specialties—with organizational mandates including advocacy, education, certification, publishing, and other programmatic offerings. She routinely partners with search committees of leading business executives/practitioners seeking leadership with deep functional and industry experience, outstanding interpersonal skills, and operational management capabilities. She has also conducted searches for public policy and external affairs executives for a range of large and small companies, start-ups, and associations. Since 2018, 100% of Stephanie's candidate slates have included gender and racial representation; 59% of successful placements identify as female and 22% identify as a person of color.
Stephanie has more than 20 years of executive search experience in Washington, DC, having spent seven years with another large, international search firm before joining Russell Reynolds Associates. She began her career as a Management Consultant.
