Danny Ryan leverages a deep academic and clinical background to recruit dynamic leaders for healthcare organizations. Based in London, Danny works with clients at the intersection of healthcare, education and technology, and is a trusted advisor to senior management as they navigate a rapidly changing industry landscape.

Danny joined Russell Reynolds Associates after completing a National Medical Director’s Clinical Fellowship and working as a consultant at Kaleidoscope Health & Care. In this role, he designed learning networks and developed purpose-based strategy for clients, including NHS Trusts, charities and pharmaceutical companies.

Danny was previously a Trauma and Orthopedic surgeon in the National Health Service, and has worked in major trauma centers, clinics and primary care settings. He co-founded one of the UK’s most popular revision websites for surgical examinations and has been a frequent contributor to scientific journals and textbooks, as well as speaking regularly at international conferences.

If being a surgeon taught me anything, it is to always be prepared and with hard work, collaboration and integrity you can overcome any challenge.

Danny holds a BA in experimental psychology and an MB B Chir in Medicine, both from the University of Cambridge.

Danny was the President Elect of the Federation of Orthopaedic Trainees in Europe and sat on numerous national training committees at the Royal College of Surgeons, where he is also a Member. He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Authority and an Associate Founding Fellow of the Faculty of Medical Leadership and Management. Danny has formerly represented Great Britain at fencing.
